What is Vivace?
Vivace is a medical and aesthetic procedure that combines traditional microneedling with radio-frequency (RF) technology.
Microneedling involves the use of a device with fine, sterile needles to create tiny, controlled punctures in the skin. These micro-injuries stimulate the body’s natural healing processes. The RF technology delivers heat energy into the deeper layers of the skin.
How Does Vivace Work?
The two actions of Microneedling and RF stimulate the natural production of collagen and elastin, and improve skin texture, tone and overall appearance. They are effective in alleviating facial wrinkles, fine lines, as well as tightening and toning the face, neck, hands and body, leading to tighter, younger-looking skin.
What Does a Vivace Treatment Entail?
Vivace uses a specialized device with fine, gold-tipped needles and delivers RF energy at the same time. Applied to the skin, the device creates tiny channels in the skin and simultaneously RF energy is delivered to heat the deeper layers of the skin. It is the combination of treatment which provides the best results.
Vivace offers various settings that can be tailored to correct aged skin, stimulate collagen production and, above all, encourage skin tightening. Dr DeJuliis started using FDA-approved Vivace on patients in January 2019, and she has seen great results for the face, neck, arms, stomach, and decolletage.
Vivace is a very well-tolerated microneedling treatment that will leave the skin refreshed and radiant. When the treating needles need to reach deeper into the skin, a topical anesthetic can be used, depending on the patient’s preference.
Vivace with PRP
Dr. DeJuliis offers Vivace with platelet-rich plasma (PRP), using the patient’s own blood for those who desire a faster and deeper collagen stimulation. Once the plasma has been separated from the red cells, it can be either injected into the skin (preferred for deep wrinkles, acne scars and stretch marks) or applied over the skin immediately after the microneedling, allowing its absorption through the microscopic opened channels.
The final step in the treatment is the application of a specialized soothing mask which promotes faster healing with less skin irritation and redness.
The results with Vivace are immediate and improve over time as new collagen continues to be produced. Patients will usually require about three treatments to see optimal results.
