Facial Treatments We Offer
At the Aurora DeJuliis MD European Medical Spa, we offer medical-grade spa treatments such as microdermabrasion facials, microcurrent toning as well as glycolic and lactic acid peels. The use of various exfoliating and regenerating chemicals has been used for many years to correct skin imperfections and make the skin look younger. Nowadays new generation peels are used with minimal downtime and great results.
Microdermabrasion facials use natural crystals to polish the skin and stimulate collagen production. Microdermabrasion is a very relaxing skin treatment and it can be combined with glycolic or lactic acid and followed by rejuvenating masks or eye treatment to specifically target this delicate wrinkle-prone area. Microdermabrasion is popular for the face, neck and décolleté, back, hands, and buttocks.
Microcurrent uses low levels of energy to stimulate facial muscles. It has been used in physical therapy for years to heal muscle damage and increase fiber repair. In our medical spa, we use microcurrent technology to retrain neck and facial muscles to lift to their original position. The treatment is very relaxing and totally painless. Depending on the patient’s age and muscle laxity, a series of treatments is necessary to achieve the desired lift.
Chemical peels improve the skin in two ways. The first improvement is noticeable immediately after the skin flaking process is completed, but the best results are visible six to eight weeks afterwards when the new, stimulated collagen fibers migrate to the skin’s surface.
Glycolic (70% strength) and lactic (50% strength) acid peels are very popular in our medical spa. They are indicated for mild skin imperfections, pigmentations, acne, dry and sun-damaged skin and melasma. They work on the cement that keeps old skin cells glued together on the surface of the skin, permitting their gentle sloughing off in order to reveal the fresh looking skin underneath.
