Skin Analysis
During the initial consultation Dr. De Juliis will perform an in-depth evaluation of your skin, assessing its general health, color, thickness, oiliness, dryness and fragility. The condition of the underlying muscles will be examined as well. Any evidence of skin damage, such as wrinkles, scars, broken capillaries, rosacea, acnes, dark spots, and/or birthmarks will also be discussed with you in detail. Personalized treatment options for skin rejuvenation and repair can then be explored.
Facial Mapping
This procedure analyzes the entire face under a dermascope, a special piece of equipment used by specialists in skincare to identify skin type and visually observe normally undetected areas of skin damage.
Acne Treatment
Acne can manifest in various ways depending on an individual’s skin type, age, sex, and/or the presence of related medical conditions. Acne can be cystic, have black or white heads or both. In adults, it is called rosacea, and can be accompanied by broken capillaries or simple redness. Treatment varies according to the type of acne you have. The Aurora De Juliis MD European Medical Spa offers various modalities for the treatment of acne. Along with a specific at-home skincare program, Dr De Juliis might suggest other modalities, such as laser light treatment, microdermabrasion, glycolic or lactic acid peels. (Chemical peels are particularly effective for blemishes, dark spots and scars). Depending on the severity of the acne, specific laser treatments such as the Yag laser, Titan or certain laser peels, might be suggested.
Dr. De Juliis devotes much attention to the acne patient's diet and might suggest specific vitamins for the skin which are intended to heal and protect the delicate structures responsible for stimulating new collagen growth and balancing the production of oil in the deeper layers of the skin. She can recommend a personalized skincare program using only products that are formulated exclusively for acne-prone skin. Our skilled, licensed estheticians perform special facials tailored to the individual coping with acne. They are trained in using microcurrent technology to open skin pores, drain, disinfect and deliver specific treatment products to every single pimple. The results are quite impressive.
Blue laser light for acne is a very comfortable treatment to clear blemishes, redness, and uneven pigmentation. Usually a series of sessions are needed to clear the problem. Treatments can be accomplished once or twice a week for 3 or 4 weeks depending on the severity of the acne. The blue light can be used for any area including chest, neck, and back.
Levulan photodynamic therapy
The medicine amino levulonic acid is applied to the skin to target bacterial overgrowth that causes acne. Then a special laser light is applied over the area to activate the medicine. This treatment reduces oily glands making it a great treatment for acne. Photodynamic therapy is also used to treat actinic keratosis (pre-skin cancer)
