Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy was developed in France and Italy as a non-invasive and effective way to treat various medical conditions. The most popular applications are for treating cellulite, skin rejuvenation through tightening, and hair loss.
Extremely fine needle pricks deliver medications to the outermost layers of the skin. When the skin is superficially pricked with a series of these tiny, nearly painless pricks, the underlying dermis is stimulated, resulting in increased collagen production and skin tightening.
For cellulite reduction, Dr. De Juliis recommends a series of eight to 10 weekly treatments targeting the specific area of concern. For optimum results she combines an infrared light laser treatment to further break down the fat cells, and encourage lymphatic drainage in areas of excessive water retention.
Dr. De Juliis, who mastered her mesotherapy skills in Paris and Rome, has been using mesotherapy in her practice since 1999. She is certified by the French Society of Mesotherapy, as well as the American Academy of Mesotherapy.
Cellulite is a medical condition and should never be treated with surgical intervention. Cellulite, prevalent in women, can be related to hormonal changes, diet, lifestyle, and poor circulation. As a matter of fact it is not uncommon for it to be accompanied by varicose veins or spider veins in the legs.
After a thorough consultation, Dr. Aurora De Juliis will suggest changes in exercise (jogging makes cellulite worse) and diet. For patients that have a special interest, after reviewing their medical history, Dr. De Juliis will prescribe a detox diet. |
